3 ALL NATURAL SAUCES AND SPREADS FOR THE WEEK AHEAD
Being on a healthy life route can be really daunting as you look for different ways of making everything you eat from scratch. Especially when wanting to use as many natural ingredients as possible. I often search online and after some years of looking, I have my favourite sources for great quality food combined with great taste, cuz no one deserves to eat tasteless food.
I've gathered a couple sauces and spreads recipes from The Anna Edit, Deliciously Ella and Hippie Lane to inspire you for the week ahead. Trust me, these will make you long for your next meal!
Yoghurt and garlic sauce/ spread:
This one is great as a dip sauce, on a salad and as a spread for lunch.
3 tablespoons of greek yoghurt
2 garlic teeth, minced
2 teaspoons of dried herbs to taste
Mix it all together and place it in a container overnight.
Avocado pesto:
Great to use as a spread and also perfect to combine with pasta and some fish or chicken.
1 cup brazil-nuts or cashews
4 avocados
4 tablespoons of olive oil
A handful of fresh mint leaves
4 lime, juice extracted
salt and pepper
For this one, you'll need a mixer or a blender. You don't need to mix too well as it's great to feel the nutty bits in the sauce.
Peanut Sauce:
By far my favorite for dinner recipes or just when you want to spice up the kitchen game.
1 1/2 tablespoons peanut butter
4 tablespoons tamari
2 tablespoons maple syrup
1 tablespoon rice vinegar
2 garlic cloves, minced
1/4 cup mint leaves
1 lime, juice extracted
1 small knob ginger
Once again, blend it!
First thing for me to love about these recipes is that they're all easy to make and require no cooking. All you need are the ingredients and yes, get the blender. Mine doesn't even go in the I prefer to use air-tight glass containers to store my sauces overnight as they won't transfer taste and will keep everything fresh.
